notes

Here is what people are saying about Dave Del Monte and The Cross County Boys:
“I think they’re the greatest rockabilly band to come along in years – the greatest musical thing to happen to the Hudson Valley since they put butter on bread!” - Tony O, Dungeon Serenade, WHVW and Doowopcafe.net.

“Sounds like a drunken Cajun!” - Paul Gruber (who lives in a dungeon)

“We were all surprised. We thought it was going to sound commercial, but they sound really raw. We love it!” – Lou and the gang at Times Square Records (New York).

Dave Del Monte and The Cross County Boys are a brand new rockabilly act from the United States (New York). Dave began playing guitar at age 12, formed his first band at 14, and is self taught on guitar and upright bass. Influences such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Charlie Feathers, Gene Vincent, Johnny Carroll and all the great doo wop music he’s heard over the years are very present in his music.

"Cross The Line" is one of the first traditional rockabilly albums to be released as a digital download only album! It opens with a rip-snortin' version of "She's Mine" from Johnnie Strickland, and includes other cool covers of rockabilly classics - "Big Fool" by Ronnie Self, and "Wild Wild Women" by Johnny Carrol. Dave and the Boys also give a rockabilly spin on doo wop songs such as "Bim Bam Boom", Hey Little Schoolgirl", "Two Hearts, Two Kisses", and "People Are Talking".

  • Authentic & Wild !!

This is real gone, daddy-O!! Great and authentic hepcat sounds, that you won´t find around each and every corner. In these days, when lots of the former US Rockabilly bands change their style to trendy contemporary music, it´s great to see that there are still true cats in the states playing Rockabilly the way it should be done. Really like the Doo Wop numbers done Rockabilly style. DJ Wildgoner - Walldorf Rock´n´Roll Weekendenders, Southern Germany
