- Dolly Parton multiplie les activités en 2016-  Nouvel album et surtout tournée nord américaine de 60 dates.
- Carrie Underwod a ajouté aux 3 dates de Dublin, Londres et Glasgow (C2C) des concerts à Stockholm et Oslo
- Eddy Mitchell donne sa voix à la nouvelle version française du Roi  Lion.
Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels et Fred Foster sont rentrés au Country Music Hall Of Fame en mars 2016
-Rory Feek (Joey+ Rory) a réalisé un film intitulé Josephine, présenté à Nashville en ce début d’avril.
-On attend le nouvel Eric Clapton : I still do pour le mois de mai , Chris Watson en mai également, Kenny Chesney
 en juillet et Garth Brooks en fin d’année

- Sonny James décédé le 22 février à 85 ans,  60 ans de carrière, principal succès « Young love »
- Steve Young: décédé à Nashville, le 17 mars 2016 à 73 ans, un outlaw très bon auteur compositeur, repris par les grands
- Merle Haggard décédé en Californie le 6 avril à 79 ans, légende de la country (biographie Sur la route de Memphis juin )
- Maureen Jessop originaire Newcastle upon Tyne, prof de danse, décédée le 9 avril, à l’âge de 74 ans à Quimper
